DLG Psychology Ltd provides independent Clinical Psychology services to children and their families, and adults in the Kent area.

Dr Lindsay Gorrill

The service is led by Dr Lindsay Gorrill, Chartered Clinical Psychologist, CPsychol. 

Dr Gorrill qualified as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist in 2007. She has many years of clinical experience working within the NHS across all age ranges and within a variety of NHS settings.  Most recently she worked in a community mental health team in East Sussex and before this in a specialist inpatient rehabilitation service in the Kent and Medway NHS Trust.  She is married, lives locally in the Sevenoaks area and has a young family.  She enjoys running and other sports.   

She is an empathic, personable and dedicated psychologist, who aims to work collaboratively with the individual/family, utilising a friendly, yet entirely professional approach to therapy. 

As a Clinical Psychologist Dr Lindsay Gorrill is trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and adopts an integrative time-limited approach to therapy.  She has a number of years experience in mental health services and offers psychological assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention for a range of presenting concerns, including anxiety (e.g. social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobia, panic disorder, generlaised anxiety), depression, stress, bereavement and loss, and low self-esteem/low confidence. In particular she has a specialist interest and clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.  Dr Gorrill has also gained specialist experience and has continued interest in providing therpeutic support and adapted cognitive behavioural therapy for individuals who have a diagnosis of an autistic spectrum disorder.  Dr Gorrill offers assessment, formulation and psychological intervention/therapy to children, adolescents and adults.  

Dr Gorrill also offers supervision to other Clinical Psychologists. 

 

Dr Sarah Lloyd

 

Dr Sarah Lloyd works as an Associate for DLG Psychology Ltd.  She is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, having over 12 years of clinical experience working primarily in the NHS, but also charity, research and private settings supporting people experiencing psychological difficulties.  Most recently, Dr Lloyd worked for Sussex Partnership NHS foundation Trust providing input into the persistent pain, Neuropsychology and staff psychology services.  Dr Lloyd has worked alongside Dr Gorrill for over 2 years, providing a high standard of clinical work.  

 

Dr Lloyd is experienced in working with a broad range of clinical presentations including anxiety and depression.  She has specialist experience working with people experiencing psychological distress within the context of physical health difficulties (e.g. persistent pain, sexual health conditions and neurological conditions). She has developed specialist knowledge and an ongoing interest in work-related stress and burnout.  

 

Dr Lloyd draws on a number of models and ideas to inform her practice including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and its third wave developments (e.g. mindfulness).  She is experienced in working with systemic models that can be useful in supporting people who experience interpersonal difficulties (e.g. relationship discord).  She approaches therapy from a compassionate, authentic, non-judgemental stance.  Dr Lloyd offers assessment, formulation and psychological intervention/therapy to adults and adolescents transitioning to adulthood.  

Registration

 

Dr Gorrill and Dr Lloyd are registered Practitioner Psychologists with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).  They are Chartered Clinical Psychologists and hold practising certificates through the British Psychological Society (BPS).  Dr Gorrill and Dr Lloyd are also registered with the Information Commissioner's Office for Data Protection (Dr Gorrill Registration number:Z3145451 / Dr Lloyd Registration number: ZA211802).  Their professional code of conduct and ethical principles follow those set out by these organisations. 

 

Dr Gorrill and Dr Lloyd are recognised by all major insurance companies.  They also see people who are self-funding.
